Hotel Gritti Palace, Venecia

The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is now closed for a 15 month period during which this iconic Venetian palazzo is undergoing a meticulous handcrafted restoration. The hotel will re-open at the beginning of 2013 bringing the historical palace back to its ancient grandeur, while at the same time updating the hotel with state-of-the-art technology.

As the Hotel Gritti Palace is a protected historical asset, the restoration project will celebrate Venetian culture and history using authentic local artisans, products and design elements, such as original Rubelli Venetian textiles from their historic archives at the Palazzo Corner Spinelli and unique furniture pieces custom designed by Donghia and inspired by Venetian Rococo couches and pozzetti. Completing the interiors will be handcrafted Girandole mirrors and antique Murano glass chandeliers.
